Gaia’s Focused Product Release (Gaia FPR)
The Gaia Focused Product Release builds on the data period (34 months) that went into Gaia's Data Release 3.
The data is available from the Gaia Archive (and from Gaia’s partner data centres). The Gaia Focused Product Release builds on the data period (34 months) that went into Gaia’s Data Release 3.
Gaia Focused Product Release was published on Tuesday 10 October 2023 and contains:
- Astrometry and photometry from engineering images taken in the omega Centauri region. To do this, a new reduction process has been used that allows densely populated fields to be treated.
- The first results of quasars’ environment analysis for gravitational lenses search.
- Extended radial velocity epoch data for Long Period Variables. It is the first time that this type of data for radial velocity measurements has been published.
- Diffuse Interstellar Bands from aggregated RVS spectra.
- Updated astrometry for Solar System objects. In this case, observations beyond the 34 months of Gaia-DR3 will be used, improving the precision of previously published astrometry.
Each data set will be accompanied by its respective article from the Gaia Collaboration.
For full details regarding Gaia FPR (contents, documentation, papers, stories, etc.), check its dedicated page!
Work is currently continuing on the processing of the data for Gaia-DR4, which will comprise 66 months of observations and will be published no earlier than the end of 2025. Until then we will be able to enjoy the new data provided by Gaia-FPR.
