Second DPAC meeting in Sitges (Barcelona)

Around 150 members of the Gaia Data Processing and Analysis Consortium (DPAC) held their second meeting from 23-27 January in Sitges. Representatives of the nine Coordination Units (CU) and the six Data Processing Centers (DPC) have participated.

The objective of the meeting was to share and analyze the experiences of the first Gaia data release four months after the catalog was opened to the public. During the meeting, first scientific results were also reviewed and the second release of data was prepared.

In addition, taking advantage of the presence of numerous members of the consortium, the afternoons were dedicated to work on issues affecting Coordination Units (CU) and Data Processing Centers (DPCs) in small teams.

On January 25, a follow-up meeting of the members of the GENIUS project was held to review the work carried out in the last period and to work on the final report of the project that ends on March 31, 2017.
